Executive Committee Minutes, Jan 2, 1946 - Jan 2, 1946

Discussion of progress in contract negotiations with Music Director Artur Rodzinski. Roldzinski then joined the meeting by invitation to discuss the matter of dismissals from the orchestra, whether these should be done all at once or over several years. The number of men involved is 22 or 23. He was asked to try to reduce the number to the minimum possible, and would make his recommendations within a few days. Rodzinski asked for an increase to 103 or 104. Problems had arisen because of returning servicemen. It was resolved that the orchestra should be increased to 104, with as recommendation that it should be limited if at all possible to 103.
