Abstract
Gustav Mahler to Felix Leifels, letter (incompletely translated from German) regarding purchase of timpani in Vienna to be sent to Mr. Arnold in New York and to be shown to the timpanist of the Philharmonic. Also some untranslated sections of the letter concern "Mrs. Scheldon" (Mrs. George R. Sheldon), Chairperson of the Committee that reorganized the New York Philharmonic under Mahler as Music Director in the Fall of 1909.
