    The first edition score was published many years after original parts.

    Two copies of the libretto by Shakespeare are included in supplementary materials. It is unknown when, or if, these materials were used, but they were published in 1869 by Torrey Brothers in New York and the inside cover reads,

    "Shakespeare's Midsummer-Night's Dream,
    as producted with Mendelssohn's Music,
    at the concerts of the New York Philharmonic Society.
