45TH ANNIVERSARY OF LEONARD BERNSTEIN'S DEBUT
"The NY Philharmonic warmly welcomes the following distinguished musicians who were members of the Orchestra in 1943 and who performed on this very stage with Leonard Bernstein exactly 45 years ago tonight, Nov. 14, 1943:
Louis Fishzohn - Violin
Saul Goodman - Timpani
Jacques Margolies - Violin
Martin Ormandy - Cello
Michael Rosenker - Assistant Concertmaster
James Smith - Trumpet
William Vacchiano - Principal Trumpet
Albert Goltzer, Associate Principal Oboe, and Homer Mensch, Bass, were on leave of absence for military duty on November 14, 1943.
Jacques Margolies is still an active member of the Orchestra and is playing this evening."
