At the start of this 26th season, "a new stage was dedicated, with the help not only of the concert but of Mayor La Guardia and Sam A. Lewisohn, honorary chaimen of Stadium Concerts, Inc." (NYTimes June 19, 1943)

Mayor Fiorello H. La Guardia helped to dedicate the new stage... and paid his prespects to the city's department stores and to 'the lousy politicians.'" (NY Times June 19, 1943)
