Abstract

Letter from Bruno Zirato to Artur Rodzinski outlining financial difficulties of NY Philharmonic, insisting that he adhere to budget because "we are broke!"; 1943 letter from Artur Rodzinski to Arthur Judson concerning state of orchestra, detailed discussion of attitude and performance of concertmaster Mishel Piastro, discussion of performance abilities of other orchestra other members and motion to dismiss members to improve orchestra; Rodzinski list of dismissals; Inquiries for vacancies at NY Philharmonic; NY Philharmonic Feb. 19, 1943 press release; Telegram from Rodzinski to Judson expressing displeasure with bad press concerning orchestra dismissals; Copy of March 4, 1943 meeting minutes; Copy of statement given by Orchestra Committee to Board of Directors demanding that dismissed members be reinstated.
