Papers, articles and other memorabilia on Symphony Society of New York donated in 1977 by Norman Schweikert, 2nd horn, Chicago Symphony Orchestra, including photocopies of newspaper announcements, programs, bulletins, orchestra roster (several years), brief biographies of orchestra members, etc., of the Symphony Society of New York. Also letter from Norman Schweikert (14 November 1977); Nov. 16, 1920 free concert at Metropolitan Opera House. Philharmonic Society rubber stamp included in materials; Review in Dwight's Journal of Music, Boston, 10 November 1877, of Leopold Damrosch and his "new' orchestra in New York; Announcement of New York concerts in 1892 by "The Only Permanent New York Orchestra"; Announcement of Grand Concert conducted in part by Dr. Antonin Dvorak, under auspices of the National Conservatory of Music of America; Propectus of New York Philharmonic, 1914-15, including excerpts from reviews; Young People's Concerts Prospectus, 1914-15; Special benefit concert by New York Symphony at the Metropolitan Opera House, 16 November 1920
