Leonard Bernstein marked and initialed the score but never performed this piece with the NY Philharmonic. The only time the NY Philharmonic performed this piece during Bernstein's time as music director was for a New Year's Eve concert on December 31, 1960. On that occassion, Zampa was conducted by Skitch Henderson.
