Notes
The New York Philharmonic did not perform at this concert.

from the July 25, 1940 review:"The orchestra numbers 100. It included fifteen players from the Philadelphia Orchestra, seven of whom are listed in the program as section leaders. The remainder of the musicians have been selected from 560 applicants who previously had passed examination in their home States, every State in the Union being represented in this new organization, which sails tonight after its second stadium concert on its South American good-will tour. Twenty members are girls. The average age is 16 to 25, but two are 14, and the senior age, aside from one or two of the Philadelphia Orchestra participants, is, we are informed, 27. In a little more than two weeks of rehearsals, Mr. Stokowski has achieved results astonishing from any viewpoint, and very impressive to the listener."
