Notes
Because of impending rain, the Beethoven Ninth was played starting with the fourth movement, and proceeding backwards. "After the Schuman 'Fanfare' and Wagner's "Meistersinger" overture, Mr. Moseley [the Philharmonic's manager] told the audience in Crocheron Park that William Steinberg would conduct the orchestra in the symphony's finale, hoping to play the first three movements afterward if the rain should abate...[after the fourth movement finished] the concert resumed with the playing of the symphony's first two movements. Since the rain did not let up, the slow movement was omitted."
