Abstract
Copies of newspaper articles on the reorganization of the Philharmonic from being a cooperative organization to an orgnization under control of the Conductor and a Board of Directors, through a Gurantor's Committee led by Mrs. George R. Sheldon, with the appointment of Gustav Mahler as Conductor. Copies of reviews of Mahler's first performance of a Beethoven/Wagner program with the "old" Philhrmonic on 31 March 1909, and many glowingly enthusiastic reviews of the concert on 6 April 1909 featuring Beethoven's Ninth Symphony. Formation of the Brooklyn Committee of the New York Philharmonic and the announcement of five concerts in Brooklyn under Mahler during the coming 1909-1910 season. Handwritten excerpts from reviews of later Mahler concerts with the reorganized New York Philharmonic.
