Ratification of reorganization of the Press Department; election of Arthur Houghton to the Board of Directors; Election of new Members of the Society, list attached; Report on the need for clarification of levels of Membership in the Society; Authorization for the orchestra to appear at a concert celebrating 100th anniversary of Steinway & Sons in the United States; Report on subscriptions and single ticket sales; Estimated budget deficit and offset from various funds; After several reports, the Board decided to drop for the present the idea of European tours; proposed Princeton Festival supported by the Board; Contribution by Vladimir Horowitz of his services in a Pension Fund concert in January 1953 to commemorate the 25th anniversary of his debut with the Orchestra; Bruno Walter to conduct Beethoven's Symphony No. 9 at Pension Fund Concert; Abandonment of proposed Ball at Carnegie Hall; Gift of Steinway Piano by Mrs. Alexander Laas.
