Abstract
ALS-Virgil Thomson to Miss Shea, of the Philharmonic (?), noting that virtually everything in a recent Olin Downes article is false and incorrect, except his complaint about graft among union officials in the Musician's Union, which "is purely an administrative question." Thomson also notes that the royalty figure is supposed to be 10%, but that he as opposed to other "good composers" cannot live entirely on the royalties of his music.
