The New York Philharmonic performance history of Gustav Mahler’s Des Knaben Wunderhorn dates to 1910 when Alma Gluck sang the American premiere of "Rheinlegendchen" with the composer at the podium. This exhibit is a photo history of all Philharmonic Knaben Wunderhorn soloists, 1910-2016, interspersed with various "wunderhorns" found in the Archives' collection of glass lantern slides. These slides were used by conductor Ernest Schelling to illustrate the Philharmonic Young People's Concerts he directed in the 1920s and 1930s.
