Notes
Gala Concert on board the S.S. De Grasse to benefit charities patronized by the French Line (a.k.a. the Compagnie Générale Transatlantique, which operated the De Grasse), hosted by Max [T.] Smith, a secretary of then-Music Director Arturo Toscanini. The Philharmonic was on board traveling to their first Tour of Europe with Toscanini, and this performance most likely happened in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean. They arrived in Le Havre, France, May 2, 1930.
