Notes
"Modern Music, Pleasant and Unpleasant: During the performance of this program, Mr. Damrosch will explain some of his views on ultra-modern music."

US Premiere of Rogers' "Fuji in the Sunset Glow." Marked "First time in America" by NYTimes, 12/06/1926.

Strauss: program stated, "Music by a Modern Composer of 1860 (Not first time in America)" -- NY Times review: "There was a final composition by a modern composer of 1860, 'not first time in America.' He was Strauss, not of the tone poems, but of the 'Emperor Waltz.'" [Assumed the Emperor Waltz was the piece performed at this concert.]

The Symphony Society Bulletin was a newsletter produced in advance of the New York Symphony concerts. It is not known at this time if what was programmed actually happened. There is no known complete set of New York Symphony programs so all performance information is compiled from a variety of sources.
